how come the skin around where my ear is pierced is black?

i took my earring out that has been in my ear for about a month and around the hole my skin is black. i have had them pierced for about 2 years and this has never happened. does anyone know whats wrong with my ear? oh and its my earlobe. not like my cartilage or anything.

You need to try using nickel free earrings. If possible always wear real gold or silver earrings. Also don’t leave them in for a whole month without taking them out and cleaning your pierced area. Even-though it’s been 2 years, that whole still needs to be cleaned.
